Gammelke

Gammelke is my main (imaging) site. It's where my parents live and they've been unknowingly dubbed telescope protector while I'm at my own place in Haarlem. Gammelke is part of a municipality in the east of The Netherlands and has a population of around 250 people.
The reason why I don't keep the telescope at my own place is that it's much darker (see light pollution). The Megrez 72 is easily transportable between sites, but the G11 mount and reflector are not. The downside is that I can only use it during the weekend or vacation and only after traveling for 3 hours.
It's a free standing house, so I can watch the sky pretty much 360 degrees (except for a few trees). However the telescope usually stands on the west side of the house. This means the house is blocking part of the eastern sky, but since that's also the worst light polluted part it's not something to shed tears about. The cause of this is Oldenzaal which has some site seeing buildings. Unfortunately they seem to think people will enjoy this at night (when everyone is sleeping...) so they've placed floodlights pointing up illuminating everything, including my eastern sky.
To the south lies Hengelo which is also a source of light pollution, albeit less than Oldenzaal. During winter this is where Orion stands.
